The renovation of variable geometry turbochargers require imperatively to use a flow bench.
The flow bench SURAL is use for the adjustment of the " Minimum Flow Vane Position" that is to say, the minimum opening of the variable geometry (minimum flow of the exhaust gas allowing a pressure and speed of gases raised on the turbine, which in case of wrong setting would cause the destruction of the turbocharger).
The variable geometry adjustment being without disassembling the turbocharger by a simple action on the stop screw of the control rod.
The SURAL Flow bench is simple to use, it is completely autonomous and requires only an electric power supply of 220 Volts. After blocking (supplied system) of the turbocharger rotor, simply start the machine, the blower (integrated into the machine) measurement via probes, flow passing through the variable geometry. The value recorded of flow is displayed then on the control screen, it is then enough to check if this one is correct. If the value is incorrect, it is necessary to have a new action on the stop screw of the control rod and retry the operation until obtaining the desired value and them lock the stop screw of the control rod.
The machine is equipped with automatic Correction for Temperature, Humidity and Atmospheric Pressure.
The machine is delivered with an already pre-registered database. For unknown values of new turbocharger in order to enrich the database the operator can create new references and record them into the system.
